Smith/Alden Families

Here is an expansion of the Smith/Alden line, starting with Moses Smith, who was #10 in my previous post.  This post details the connection to Mayflower passengers John Alden and William, Alice, and Priscilla Mullins.

96. JOHN ALDEN
  • born about 1599 in England

  • hired as cooper (barrel maker) for the Mayflower; signed the Mayflower Compact; was given the choice to stay in Plymouth or return to England and chose to stay
  • married Priscilla Mullins about 1621-1623 in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts
  • ten children, the first four or five in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts, the last five or six in Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts
